Before Soccerquote, the value of a football player that we used to know was the public information that is only updated once in a while, when there is a rumor transfer or a done deal between 2 clubs.

Soccerquote is all about the live value of a football player. Soccerquote provides an accurate price of a football player’s value based on his performance during a live match.

In order to offer the most accurate value to your favorite player, we calculate their prices on 2 parameters:

For the market value/price, it’s no big deal since that data is easily accessible to all. It is publicly updated every quarter and updated as well in our data system.

Concerning the live index, we generate our own index based on the parameter we find important in a game. We use multiple actions that happen during a football match for each football player!

Initial market value (last transfer price)

SoccerQuote records detailed information for major soccer players and evaluates their value based on our index and data analysis, as well as opinions of experts and official football clubs evaluations. Together we provide a highly precise value of football players on the market, the value of the player then changes according to the performance during each match in the real time we update the player market price during the actual match keeping the players value up to date with the current market. You no longer have to wait until the next official transfer or quarterly updates to know the value of players.

Our index

Soccerquote uses FBCore data to acquire events and analyzes several parameters from all the matches as well as the current market value to evaluate the worth of the player. We gather data of 22,000+ players and for each one of them, we have a full list of events that are gathered to form our index. It is composed from positive and negative actions that can happen on the field. Our index is an algorithm that we apply on the market value. How the graph moves

The graph illustrates the live performance of a selected player throughout 90 minutes of the match unless the selected player is substituted. The graph moves according to how the player performs on the field using real time value of the player. The value goes up and down and the graph displays it. The increase and decrease in value are triggered by the negative or positive actions of the player on the field. Every positive or negative action of player X on the field directly correlates to the player’s value going up or down in real time and is visualised through the graph, for e.g two scenarios positive and negative.

+ Positive: If player X creates a scoring opportunity his value will go up and the graph will display it by going up.
– Negative: If player X gives away a penalty his value will go down and the graph will display it by going down.

The first 15 minutes of every match the graph does not move because the data is getting gathered in that time frame. We then analyse the data in real time and update the graph every 20 seconds. If there is no significant action from the selected player, or if the player does something we do not analyse, the graph will not move.

Difference between + and – actions

Positive and negative actions have a direct impact on the player’s value during the live match. What do we consider positive and negative actions? Positive actions can vary for example, scoring, assisting, creating key chances intercepting, tackling etc will correlate to the player’s increase in value in real time. However negative actions for example getting booked, committing fouls, missing key scoring opportunities, giving the ball away etc. This will negatively impact the players performance therefore bringing the real time value down.
Most of the time, there are more positive actions during a match than negative ones. That is why in our algorithm, the positive actions are worth less than negative ones.

What happens between 2 matches?

At the end of a match, or when a football player is out of the field, we hold the price of the player based on the last event and calculation of the price.
When a player will start again to play in another match, its value will vary but starting from the last value we kept on record.

Each parameter which is included in the index is independent of the others. In other words, a positive action does not affect the percentage system of the negative actions. Our index is a cumulation of independent positive and negative events.

Example: if Mbappé played a brilliant game- amazing goals, assists, and key passes, the % of the negative actions will still be the same and vice versa.
