The next face of football
Kylian Mbappe is considered by many to be the “next big thing” in football. The Frenchman is the heir to the throne post the Messi-Ronaldo era. He has scored over 80 career goals and is still only 21 years of age. Mbappe’s game style and performances have future superstar status written all over. Thus, there is no doubt that the young Frenchman is potentially a future Ballon d’Or winner.
Mbappe is currently at PSG; however, the youngster has hinted a move away from the French capital. Recently, Mbappe came out saying that he would like to move out of France in the future. The Premier League and LaLiga are the preferred destinations for the PSG star.
Where to next
Mbappe is a player any team in the world would love to have. Yet, there are only a few clubs who have both the financial strength and superstar pedigree to bring in a player of Mbappe’s calibre.
Real Madrid holds the top spot in the race for the Frenchman. Los Blancos have both financial power and a history of attracting players like Mbappe. Moreover, the French youngster is already a massive fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid. Thus, there would be no better way for Mbappe to follow the footsteps of his idol than to play for Real Madrid.
Other than Real Madrid, the other clubs mentioned in the race for Mbappe are Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester City. At Barcelona, Mbappe is viewed as the heir to Lionel Messi. However, given the current state of the club and the new direction in which the club is heading, signing Mbappe is a bit iffy.
In the Premier League, Man City and Liverpool are the only clubs who get the mention. Man City has the financial power and ambition to attract any player in world football. Thus, signing Mbappe would be perfect for the Man City project, for them to achieve their super-club status.
Liverpool, on the other hand, is an unlikely contender for Mbappe. The current project at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp does not seem to involve signing superstar players such as Mbappe. However, in football, you never know what may happen.
